camping

you never really know how dirty kids can get until you take them camping.  how is it that even after a shower they can look like they never had one?

and i hate bringing all those suitcases back into the house for all of the dirt in and on them.  it feels like nothing will ever be clean!

best story of our camping trip this year:
jacob made a friend while there (nothing new) and he was invited to go fishing on the boat with said friend and his dad and grandpa.  they went out onto the lake and found a spot to cast.  apparently jacob felt like showing off to his new friend and decided to cast his fishing pole left-handed.  he lost his grip and the entire pole fell into the lake.  at hearing "oops!" dad came to the stern only to discover how fast a fishing pole can sink in 10+ feet of water.  so he and his father set off trying to recover jacob's pole.  by the grace of God, grandpa's hook found jacob's hook, and the pole was miraculously pulled to the safety of the boat.  that was the only catch of the evening!
